Michelle Scanlan was born in San Antonio. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1991 and from The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 1995, where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed residency training at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She has been in private practice with Pasteur Medical Associates since 1997. She is board certified in internal medicine. She received a certificate of Clinical Lipidology from the National Lipid Association in 2011. She continues extensive study in the interest of cardiovascular prevention. She offers additional screening for cardiovascular disease with advanced lipid testing and carotid intimal media artery thickness exams. Dr. Scanlan plays the double bass and harp. She is a member of the University of the Incarnate Word Orchestra and Alamo City Symphony Viva. She enjoys spending time with her husband and pet dogs.
