Our state-of-the-art laboratory enables us to perform your lab tests in house and provides better tracking of your results. Our lab allows less waiting time for you to hear back about results, and provides better continuity of care. We will also be able to send your lab to you by our patient portal.

DEXA BONE DENSITY SCAN
With our GE Lunar Prodigy Advance DEXA scan, we can serve our patients with the most advanced technology available on the market today. Not only does our DEXA scan provide very accurate bone mineral density values to access for patients at risk of fracture due to osteoporosis, but it also has other additional features that greatly benefit our patients at PMA.
Our DEXA scan not only accesses bone mineral density (BMD), but it also accesses the quality of bone through our advanced diagnostic software. This is called the Trabecular Bone Scan (TBS). Without TBS you are missing up to 30% of patients at risk. Over 50% of patients with osteoporotic fractures have normal or osteopenic BMD values. These patients are underdiagnosed with BMD alone!This technology allows us the ability to better diagnose and understand osteoporosis for patients that have suffered osteoporotic fractures.Our Dexa scan at PMA also has another amazing feature with its advanced software capabilities to do Body Composition Analysis. Dexa scan has long been the Gold Standard for accessing true body composition. Just a few of the highlights we can determine total fat mass including visceral fat! Total lean muscle mass and very accurately calculate your basal metabolic rate. This is an amazing tool that helps guide our patients through their fitness and better living journey.
X-RAY
Our in house digital x-ray machine allows us to get answers in real time. Our x-ray machine allows your physician to access your report much more quickly. This promptness of receiving reports means our physicians are able to provide you with an appropriate treatment plan quickly. We also have the capability of sharing radiology data with Methodist hospital. All x-rays are reviewed by a Radiologist.
